The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is the state agency responsible for managing, supervising, and providing community and residential programs for youth involved in the legal system.
Our mission is to transform young people’s lives, create safer communities, and build more equitable systems through community-based partnerships that hold youth accountable while supporting their strengths and connections. Through collaboration with community and agency partners, DJS strives to achieve meaningful, positive outcomes for the youth and families we serve.
