About the Structured Shelter Care Program
- Serves male and female, ages 13-20
- Serves up to 6 youth total (4 male and 2 female) and serves youth from Maryland
- Staff are trained in trauma-informed care
- Behavioral and physical health screening at admission
- Dietary, medical, dental and counseling services on premises
- Educational program in the facility year round, five days a week for six hours a da
- Recreation space and recreational programming

Activities in the Structured Shelter Care Program
The Department partners with community organizations, churches, and civic organizations to provide programing for youth at the facility. The Charles Hickey Structured Shelter Care Program provides youth the opportunity to participate in:
