OFF-SITE - Outdoor Adventure Therapy & Educational Programming
The Reflections off-site program provides youth the opportunity to get away from the facility and participate in outdoor adventures. The program has two primary goals: they are to: (1) provide youth with an introduction to adventure sports, outdoor skills and activities and, (2) utilize the challenges presented during activities for skill generalization following Dialectical Behavior
Therapy guidelines. Youth who participate in multiple Reflections outings are guided through progressively more difficult activities and given the opportunity to assist with leading activities for youth who are new to the program. The locations and nature of the activities presented during Reflections also allows for discussion and learning of natural history.

ON-SITE - Team Building, STEM, Bicycle Mechanics
The Reflections on-site program provides all youth at a given facility the opportunity to participate in the program. The team building expansion was initiated in November of 2022 and has been well received by youth and staff alike. A bicycle mechanics program was successfully pioneered in 2023 at Backbone Mountain Youth Center. STEM Projects in conjunction with JSEP also began in 2023 at Backbone Mountain Youth Center. The On-Site Reflections Program is designed to provide youth an introduction to alternate skills and activities, as well as incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy skill generalization during challenges.
