Meadow Mountain Youth Center (MMYC) opened in June 1958 as the Meadow Mountain Forestry Camp for Boys. The Meadow Mountain Youth Center is one of six treatment programs operated by the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS). The Center, located in Garrett County, serves up to 40 youth from across the State, between the ages of 13-18.
The facility provides individualized rehabilitative services which include: an accredited educational program through MSDE, behavioral health which includes individual and family therapy by licensed mental health professionals, substance abuse programming, trauma informed care, somatic health, community service, recreational opportunities, community outings, nutritional services, and regularly scheduled structured learning activities to enhance pro-social skill development.
