Individuals, community and civic organizations, and corporate groups may volunteer their time with residential and community-based youth. Some of the activities youth will benefit from include: music workshops, self-improvement seminars, financial workshops, worship services, corporate sponsorship, career development, computer training, and theatre and dance workshops.

DJS offers opportunities for college students to earn course credits, professional experience, and field exposure through student internships and externships. Student placements are available for the following positions: case manager's assistant, facility recreational aid, mass communications, spiritual guidance, tutoring, public relations, and office assistant.
